Day 1 - Steel Heritage to Peak District Views
Kelham Island Museum
Working steam engines demonstrate Sheffield's steel-making power. The River Don Engine runs twice daily at 11:30 and 2:30. Interactive exhibits show how the city forged the world's cutlery and tools.
Sheffield Winter Garden
Europe's largest temperate glasshouse houses 2,500 plants across three climate zones. Free entry makes this popular with families. The adjacent Millennium Gallery often has rotating art exhibitions.
Endcliffe Park
Sheffield's largest park leads toward the Peak District edge. The Porter Brook runs through it, and cafes serve decent coffee. Good views toward Hallam Moors on clear days.
