When we visited in April 2026: Canterbury is significantly smaller than visitors expect. The best time to visit Canterbury is May to September offers warmest weather and longest days, though July-August bring peak crowds. Canterbury has two stations. Canterbury West is on the high-speed line from London St Pancras (55 minutes, advance singles £20-40). Canterbury East runs from London Victoria via Bromley South (1 hour 25 minutes, often £4-8 cheaper but slower). Both stations are within 10 minutes walk of the Cathedral.
